It is with great sadness that we announce that Ernest R. Menold, PhD, PE passed away August 6, 2019 from injuries sustained in an accidental fall. The entire Menold family and co-workers mourn his loss. Mr. Menold served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2003 until his passing, and he previously served as President of Ernest D. Menold, Inc. from 1973 thru 2003. During that time, the company doubled the size of their manufacturing shop, and branched out into new markets that they presently serve today. Mr. Menold held Customer Service as the core value for all of their work, a tradition that continues today.
Ernie R. Menold was active in the sheet metal industry, serving two terms as president of SMCA (SMCA-PHL.org), the Philadelphia Chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractor’s Association (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA). He served as President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of SMACNA, and he also served as National President of SMACNA in 1991-1992.
