Miscellaneous Metals at ‘The Alcott’, 416 Spring Garden St.

We were contracted by our trade partners at Artisan Display, Inc. for the miscellaneous metals package at ‘The Alcott’, a new mixed-use building at 5th and Spring Garden Streets (416 Spring Garden St). The building features 12 stories and 329 rental residences, a parking garage, and retail space on the 1st floor. The construction was managed by INTECH Construction.

Our scope of work included:

Lobby- Reception Desk

We fabricated the front portion of the reception desk, that sat on a millwork base, and in front of wooden casework, all provided by Artisan Display. The radiused desk was fabricated out of 11 gauge stainless steel, was solid welded, then polished smooth.

Lobby- Green Wall Frame

We fabricated a 13’ x 10.5’ aluminum green wall frame for the lobby. The entire frame was fabricated out of 1 ½” aluminum square tubing with ½” x1/8” continuous flat bars stitch welded to the back side to encapsulate the light fixtures. The frame had 1’ standoffs with attachment plates to mount the frame to the wall. After fabrication, the frame was powder coated to match spec, then installed.

Lobby & Lounge- Mesh Screen Walls

We fabricated (2) Mesh Screen Walls in the lobby and (1) in the lounge. The frames measured approximately 18’ tall x 10’ wide. The tubing of the frame was 3"x2"x3/16" steel tubing, and the inner mesh panels were surrounded in U-Strip frames. The entire structures were powder coated to match spec before being installed.

Leasing Area- Feature Wall Frame

We fabricated the metal frame for the “Feature Wall” in the leasing area. The frame was fabricated out of a number of various aluminum flat bars, channels, and angle clips. There were holes in the frames for eye bolts that held support cables within the wall. The frame was powder coated to match the spec, and then installed in place.

Elevator Lobby

We fabricated the elevator lobby cladding and door jambs system. This included:

  1. Vertical Jamb Panels running alongside the wood which were 11 Ga. Powder coated to bronze paint spec

  2. Header Panels for the elevator- fabricated out of 16 gauge and powder coated to bronze paint spec

  3. Wall Panels of various sizes that filled all gaps between the light panels, powder coated to bronze spec
